Which schools are in catchment for us?
Enter any UK postcode and we'll show every grammar and selective independent school within range, ranked by straight-line distance, with admissions criteria and catchment priority flagged.
We'll show you every selective school within your chosen radius. Distances are straight-line, calculated from postcode centroid — the same way most schools measure them for admissions.
How catchment actually works
Grammar school admissions in England follow a hierarchy: looked-after children, EHCP/SEN, pupil premium, siblings, then catchment / priority area, then exam score, then distance as a tiebreaker.
“Catchment” means different things at different schools. Some use named parishes or wards. Some use a radius (e.g. KEGS uses 12.5 miles). Some use council boundaries. Some have no formal catchment and allocate purely by score + distance.
This checker shows straight-line distance — which is how most schools actually measure it — plus whether a school has published a formal catchment radius you'd fall inside.
